January 22, 2015 - First Green will be conducting a seminar at the Golf Industry Show (GIS) in San Antonio on Monday, February 23 (8 am - 3 pm), that includes a field trip, lunch and hands-on learning labs that demonstrate the tools and resources that are available to host STEM* field trips on the golf course. There will be discussion about how to lead learning labs, ways to adapt the lesson plans for students from grades 5-12, and how to connect with a local school. The workshop offers superintendents an opportunity to expand local community involvement through hosting students and teachers. Several superintendents now hosting field trips will be there to lead the labs and share what works for them at their own golf courses.

“I have to say … yesterday was one of the best days I have ever spent on a golf course!” – Frank Tichenor, Golf Course Superintendent at Forest Hills Field Club in Bloomfield, NJ, after hosting his first field trip.
