Dec. 14, 2016 - First Green will be conducting a seminar at the Golf Industry Show (GIS) in Orlando on Monday, February 6 (8 am - 5 pm), that includes a field trip at Orange Tree Golf Club with a local school and hands-on learning labs that demonstrate the tools and resources available to host STEM* field trips on the golf course. This interactive workshop will teach attendees how to launch a First Green local field trip program on their home course. The workshop offers superintendents an opportunity to expand local community involvement through hosting students and teachers. Current superintendents with experience hosting this program will lead learning labs and provide real-world insight.
“Being in the golf industry since I was a kid, I’ve seen the popularity of the game decline over the years,” says Ryan Kraushofer, superintendent at Westminster (Md.) National Golf Course, who participated in last year’s First Green field trip in San Diego. “The First Green seminar at GIS provided me with all the information I needed to successfully host a program at my course. It was such a great seminar, I plan on attending again in Orlando.”
