If you would like to bring your fifth grade or older class out to a First Green field trip, reach out to your local golf course superintendent.

Here are some steps:

  1. Identify a golf course nearby your school.
You may already know of one, or you can do an Internet search for "golf courses near" and insert your school address.
  2. Pick a First Green lesson plan.
Our lesson plans are best for grades 5 and up, and can be modified as needed, in consultation with the golf course superintendent. Be ready to let the golf course superintendent know what you're interested in covering on your field trip.
  3. Review field trip checklist.
  4. Contact the golf course superintendent.
Look on the golf course's website for "golf" or "golf maintenance" or "groundskeeping." Look for the name of the golf course superintendent. If there are a few courses nearby, you can contact several at once.
  5. Ask.
When contacting the superintendent, ask if they have ever hosted a field trip. Would they be interested in hosting your class in a First Green field trip? If they'd like to know more, you can direct them to this site, and the information for superintendents. The videos on our home page are especially helpful to get an overview of the program.
